Why is there imported produce in my box?

Because it was already here and would otherwise have been wasted.

Nothing in your box was imported by us. When a US supplier has surplus produce that came into the country through their normal supply chain, rescuing it is better than letting it be thrown away — and some things simply aren't grown here in every season.
